From One Installation Job in 1997 to a Full-Service Commercial Mover
Flood Brothers began in 1997 with two brothers, a truck, and a standard that has never changed: show up, do careful work, and leave the customer better than you found them. The first jobs were furniture installations, the detailed, hands-on kind of work where a sloppy crew is obvious in minutes and a sharp one earns the next call. Businesses kept calling, and what they asked us to handle kept getting bigger.
What started as installations grew into full commercial relocations, warehouse and plant moves, FF&E and fixture work, secure storage, decommissions, and nationwide logistics. We added trucks, racking, and people, but we never added the shortcut most movers eventually take. We never started treating moves like commodities. We grew by keeping the work in-house and keeping our name on every result.
Growth came one referral at a time. A facilities manager who watched us protect their floors and hit their schedule called us for the next building, then recommended us to a colleague across town. That word-of-mouth is how a two-brother installation crew became a regional commercial mover with a fleet, a half-million square feet of warehousing, and crews trained to handle everything from a law office to a fabrication line. We never bought our reputation with advertising, we earned it on job sites, the slow and honest way.
Today Flood Brothers moves offices, hospitals, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and data centers across the country. The company is bigger, the projects are more complex, and the equipment is more specialized, but it is still run like a family business that has to face its customers the next morning. Our crews show up for the neighborhoods they live in, through donations, volunteer time, and partnerships with local organizations that do the hard, daily work of helping people.
It also shows up in how we handle what businesses leave behind. When a client decommissions a space, we work to recycle, donate, and resell furniture and equipment instead of sending it to a landfill, diverting 98% of materials and routing usable goods to organizations that need them. Office chairs, desks, and fixtures that would otherwise hit a dumpster end up in classrooms, nonprofits, and startups that can put them to work.
The same belief shapes how we treat our own people. A stable, full-time job with real training is one of the most direct ways a company can strengthen a community, and we take that seriously. Many of our supervisors started as movers and built long careers here.
