What It Is

Final Mile Delivery, Defined

Final mile delivery is the last leg of a shipment’s journey, moving goods from a regional hub or warehouse to their final destination and into the building where they will actually be used. For commercial clients, that means coordinating the receiving, staging, scheduling, and inside delivery that turn a freight shipment into furniture and equipment sitting in the right room, ready to go.

It is the part of logistics that most carriers treat as someone else’s problem. Standard freight ends at the loading dock: a pallet is dropped, a signature is collected, and the work of getting everything inside, to the correct floor, and into place falls on your team. Flood Brothers owns that last leg instead, scheduling the delivery to an appointment your building can accommodate, reserving docks and elevators, and carrying each item inside to its final spot.

That coordination is what separates final mile from a basic delivery and from our broader logistics and white-glove delivery program. Final mile is the scheduled last-leg movement and the coordination behind it; white-glove describes the level of care and handling we apply once items reach your door.

How It Works

The Last Leg, Step by Step

  1. Receive & Inspect

We take delivery of your shipment at our facility, check it against the packing list and purchase order, and document any damage before it reaches you.

  2. Stage & Consolidate

Items are stored and staged in our warehouses and consolidated, so a partial order never becomes three separate, half-finished delivery days.

  3. Schedule Docks & Elevators

We book the delivery to an appointment window your building can accommodate and reserve the docks, freight elevators, and access your site requires.

  4. Deliver Inside & Place

Our crew carries everything inside to the correct floor and room, places each item to plan, and clears the packaging on the way out.

Delivered on Schedule

Appointment-Based Delivery, Not a Guess at a Window

Commercial buildings do not run on “sometime today.” Docks get booked, freight elevators get shared, and a delivery that shows up unannounced can sit in a parking lot for hours. Final mile only works if it lands at the right time.

We schedule every delivery to a confirmed appointment window and coordinate directly with your team and the building’s property management. That means the dock is reserved, the elevator is held, and the right people are on site when our crew arrives, so the last leg lands cleanly the first time instead of becoming a second trip.

Anywhere You Operate

Multi-Site and Nationwide Final Mile

Whether you are opening one location far from headquarters or rolling out dozens of sites at once, the hard part of final mile is consistency. Different crews, different cities, and different carriers usually mean different results. We coordinate the entire program from a single point of contact, receiving, staging, scheduling, and inside delivery, through trained crews and a vetted national network that puts hands within reach of about 95% of the U.S.

That single plan is what keeps a national rollout from turning into fifty separate logistics problems. Items can be received and consolidated at our facilities, then released on the schedule each site needs, so every location gets the same handling and the same accountability no matter where it sits on the map.

Who It's For

Built for B2B Final Mile Logistics

Final mile delivery is the right fit when the destination is a working commercial space and the shipment cannot simply be dropped at the curb. We regularly handle the last leg for:

  • Office and corporate fit-outs, workstations, casegoods, and furnishings delivered floor by floor.
  • Retail and hospitality openings, fixtures, millwork, and equipment delivered on pre-opening timelines.
  • Healthcare and fitness facilities, heavy, sensitive equipment set, leveled, and ready to use.
  • Technology and AV deployments, displays, network gear, and IT delivered and placed with care.
  • Multi-location rollouts, consistent, scheduled delivery across many sites from one plan.

Flood Brothers is fully licensed and insured, and we can provide a certificate of insurance naming the parties your project or building requires. Final mile is often paired with FF&E installation and receiving and warehousing as part of one coordinated project.
