Nobody Loses Sleep Over the Truck. They Lose It Over the Cutover.
The physical move is the part everyone pictures and the part least likely to hurt you. What keeps an IT director awake is the hour between the last shutdown and the first successful boot at the other end, and whether anyone can prove where a data-bearing asset was during it.
So we plan that hour first. Power-down sequence, label scheme, rack elevation at the destination, and a rollback path if something does not come up. Your team approves the sequence before we touch anything, and the plan names who does what and when.
Everything else is logistics. Air-ride transport, shock-protected crating, racks moved upright and restrained rather than laid over, and every asset scanned out and scanned in with a time stamp. If a unit arrives marked, you will know which leg it happened on.

The tradeoff is honest: phasing costs more in total crew hours and means running split across two sites for a period. If you can take a single long window, that is cheaper. Most operations here cannot.
