A warehouse move here is rarely one building to one building across the street. Alliance to south Dallas is a real drive, and it changes truck cycles, crew hours and what can honestly be finished in a single shift.
So we plan around the outbound schedule first. Which racking comes down in what order, what gets staged, which aisles stay pickable, and what moves overnight so the morning pick still runs. Then we work backwards to the crew size and the truck count.
Straight about it: Dallas-Fort Worth is a project market for us, not a staffed branch. Our own supervised crews and one accountable project lead, same standard as anywhere.

We plan backward from the first outbound order at the new building. Fast movers and critical SKUs go first, then work cells, then packaging and support equipment, then the office. The point is that receiving and fulfillment restart in a controlled order rather than everything landing at once and nobody being able to find anything.
In practice that usually means running both buildings for a stretch. You keep picking out of the old facility while the new racking goes up, and we move the slow-moving inventory in the gap. It costs a little more in crew hours and saves far more in orders you did not miss.

Usually yes, and it is the whole point of phasing. You keep picking out of the old building while we erect racking in the new one, then we move inventory in waves keyed to your slotting plan rather than by whatever is nearest the door.
The honest tradeoff: running two buildings for a week or two costs more in crew hours and in your own labor. If you can genuinely afford a shutdown over a long weekend, that is cheaper. Most DFW distribution operations cannot, which is why phasing is the norm here.

We do it. Pallet racking, cantilever and wide-span shelving get dismantled, transported and re-erected by our own crews, and we relocate forklifts, reach trucks, conveyor and packaging lines as part of the same scope.
Two things we will flag rather than quietly absorb. Anything requiring a permit or an engineer stamp for seismic or fire suppression clearance goes through your building department, and we plan around that timeline. And if racking is old or damaged, we will tell you when re-erecting it is a worse idea than buying new, even though replacing it is not our sale.

We can receive and warehouse equipment and inventory and deliver it in the order the install actually needs. What we will not do is move you into an active construction zone because a lease date says so. That is how racking gets damaged and how people get hurt.
