Three things move the number: racking, equipment, and how much shipping you need to keep running. Pallet racking teardown and re-install is unavoidable labor and it surprises people more than the inventory does. Anchored machinery and conveyor add rigging. Phasing so you never stop shipping costs more than closing for a weekend.
We walk both sites, put the scope in writing, and show you which lever is driving the cost so you can pull one if the number is too high.

Usually yes, and phasing is the whole point. You keep picking out of the old building while we erect racking in the new one, then move inventory in waves keyed to your slotting plan.
The honest tradeoff: running two buildings for a week or two costs more in crew hours and in your own labor. If you can genuinely take a shutdown over a long weekend, that is cheaper. Most Memphis distribution operations cannot.

We do it. Pallet racking, cantilever and wide-span shelving dismantled, transported and re-erected by our own crews, plus forklifts, reach trucks, conveyor and packaging lines.
Two things we flag rather than absorb quietly. Anything needing a permit or engineer stamp goes through your building department and we plan around that timeline. And if racking is old or damaged, we will tell you when re-erecting it is a worse idea than buying new, even though replacement is not our sale.

We can receive and warehouse equipment and inventory and release it in the order the install needs, so a two-week slip does not become a crisis.
What we will not do is move you into an active construction zone because a lease date says so. That is how racking gets damaged and how people get hurt.

Four to six weeks is comfortable for a full facility. The survey and the phasing plan genuinely take time, and your own team needs a slotting plan for the new building before we can sequence anything properly.
Peak season is the crunch. If your move lands in the run-up to holiday volume, book earlier and expect less flexibility on dates.
